EXALTED RULER’S MESSAGE:
Members, as August ends, it is fall and cooler weather is upon us. This means the restart of out Nationality Nights, and out first will
be Farmers Nite on September 13. 2011. As always the meals are great, and this will be no exception. Please stop and purchase
your tickets early, so that the committee can plan accordingly. Nothing is more upsetting than last minute.
If you haven't been to a Cruise Nite, than you should try before they shut down for the season. Great food, great cars, and alot of
fun. Trustee Ed Cooper has reported that they are doing very well, and with his committee of volunteers you can see it if you stop
by.
Our Loyal Knight, Wayne Blair has resigned his position in the Lodge due to work scheduling and family. Many thanks to Wayne for
doing a great job for his time in the Chair. Nominations are open and the position will be balloted at the September 6th meeting.
We have a pre-visit of the District Deputy scheduled for September 17th at 9:00 AM, and anyone who would like to talk to him can
stop by. The visitation of the installation is scheduled for September 20th, at this time.
Congratulations to Frank Basile, PER, as the Elk of the Month. Frank certainly is deserving of this recognition for his ongoing
support of the Lodge, and again Thank You Frank, keep going.
Hope all have had a safe and happy summer; look forward to seeing you at our Lodge.
Fraternally,
John Glenowicz, PER

Secretaries Message:
September is here already and time to send the kids back to school and for us to get back in the groove here at the lodge. We have
571 members with 56 still delinquent in their dues. If one of those people is you, please send in your dues. Or if you don’t have the
green key card you are probably delinquent.
Our regular meetings begin again the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 7:00. If you were not at the last meeting, Loyal Knight
Blair resigned and we will be looking to vote on his replacement at the next meeting if you are interested in getting in the chairs.
Farmer’s night is the second Tuesday of the month so get your tickets early to secure a seat. Friday night dinners will begin again
in September so come on down and support your lodge.
Fraternally,
Sylvia Zakrzewski, Secretary
Lodge Veteran update:
On August 8th we had our annual veterans barbecue at the V.A. in Leeds . We had a few showers but all went well and the veterans
were glad to come out to the pavilion and have a meal on the Elk's. We would like to thank all those that helped out at the barbecue
that day. As we were all told they were glad to see us and enjoyed the meal.
On August 21st. we held the spaghetti fundraiser for the Northampton Veterans Council to help sponsor their Veteran’s Tribute
Tour to send our Northampton WWII and Korean Veterans to Washington, DC for an all expense paid trip and tour of the monuments
and war memorials. That evening overwhelmed all of us on the lodge veterans committee and the Northampton Veteran's
Council. The lodge presented a check to Tom Pease of the council for $4,300.00 that evening. They stated that the Northampton
Elks Lodge is now the major contributor to the tribute. Gerry and I are still having chills as we write this. To see what your lodge,
members and community can accomplish is just overwhelming towards our veterans. We cannot thank you all enough from our
hearts and if I may steal a quote from Tom Pease "we know it came from your hearts ". Thanks to all who donated, worked in the
kitchen and supported the cause.
Gerry Clare, Greg Zak
Items for Monthly Bulletin:
I would like to remind all officers and committee members that is their responsibility to get information to Sylvia or Jane for any
meetings, events or any other item that they would like to have posted in the bulletin. We will make every effort to make sure that all
information gets out to the members, even if it means adding extra pages. There are mail boxes in the hall outside of the banquet
room for the bulletin and for the secretary. Please, if you have information, get it to us. You can also contact me, Jane, @
413-586-4154. If the item is too lengthy to give to me over the phone, I will be more than happy to give you my email address and
have you send it to me. I will also make every effort to post a small blurb indicating the cut off date for next months bulletin.
Speaking of which, due to some travel plans, items for the October 2011 bulletin must be submitted to me no later than 5:00 pm on
Tuesday September 20th, 2011. Please remember that the bulletin has to be printed, folded sealed counted and labeled, prior to
going to the post office.
Friday Night Dinners:
As summer is winding down and families are settling back in to
the school year routine and leaving all of that beach weather
behind, we hope to offer you something to look forward
to...Friday Night Dinners are BACK! Starting on Friday
September 9th, join us in the lodge for our surf or our turf
dinners! We will be serving them up for you from 5:30 to 7:30.
Get here early to get a good seat!

Bi-annual Buck-A-Week Dinner:
The bi-annual Buck-a-Week Dinner and drawing will be held on
Thursday October 20th, 2011 at the Lodge. Please notice that
the date is on Thursday, not a Friday. This change is to
accommodate our caterer. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. Due
to the popularity of this function and in order to seat as many
people as possible, only ticket holders may participate.
Unfortunately, guests can no longer be invited. Also, it is
mandatory that if you plan to attend you make a reservation prior
to the cut-off date of Friday October 14, 2011 at 5:00 PM.
Because of the limited seating capacity, no more than 200 can be
served. So, call early and we hope to see you there for a fun
evening.
Mike O’Brien
BAW Chairman
Nationality Night:
Come and join us on Tuesday September 13th @ 6:00 pm for
our first Nationality Night of the season. Enjoy a wonderful

chance, raffles and good company. Tickets are available in
the members lounge and will remain on sale through 5:00 pm
on Friday September 9th, 2011. Come and join us for what
has always been and promises to be, a night of fun!
