“IN MEMORIAM”
1926              EDWARD F. STEPNOWSKI            2011
EXALTED RULER’S MESSAGE:
Greetings Members,

July brings even more events for the Lodge, as well as many Thanks for our successes of the past month. June brought a very
successful Flag Day to the Lodge with around 100 people in attendance from thru out the community, and many compliments were
received. I would like to thank all of you that assisted in this event, from  preparation, to clean up, a job well done. The House
Committee and the Trustees are working together to rent the Hall more frequently, and their efforts are noticeable. If you haven't
seen it, stop down and take a look, perhaps for your next event.

July also signals the time for the Grand Lodge Convention, and I look forward to attending on behalf of the Lodge. It also marks
our golf outing, which is always enjoyed by those in attendance. Cruise Nights continue to be strong and well attended, so the
message for the month is positive. Is there something you would like to do to assist or get involved? Feel free to contact me at 413-
575-9828, the phone is always on, and if not I do return calls.

Thank you to Dennis and Lenny Pittsinger, the June Elks of the Month. A sincere thank you for all you did to assist in the cleaning
up of the kitchen. It will be noticed for a long time to come.
Hope to see you around the Lodge, or one of the many events going on.

Fraternally,
John Glenowicz, PER

Secretaries Message:

I have been very busy in my office trying to figure out our new CLMS2PC and CLMS2WEB systems, so, if you have received this
bulletin and other people in your household who usually don’t receive it have my apologies.  Still trying to figure the new system
out.  I would like to welcome our newest members who were initiated on June 21st.  Welcome Gregory Malynoski, Donald Raucher,
Trina Raucher and Kelly Richey.  This brings our membership up to 575 members. We will only have one meeting in July and
August.  The third Tuesday of the month.  July looks to be a quiet month at our lodge.  The Friday night dinners are taking a
vacation until September, a well deserved rest for our dedicated Friday night kitchen staff.
Don’t forget about our annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 9th.
Hope to see you at the Cruise Nights every Thursday night!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy summer.

Fraternally,
Sylvia Zakrzewski, Secretary
VETERAN’S TRIBUTE:
Elk’s Lodge # 997 will be holding a Spaghetti Dinner on August 21, 2011 between 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. The cost is a donation of
$10. All proceeds will go to benefit the Veteran’s Council of Northampton “Tribute Tour” to Washington, DC in October. Your
donation will help send Northampton WW II and Korean Veterans to Washington, DC. for an all-expense paid trip and tour of the
monuments and war memorials. This is a once in a lifetime chance for our men and woman who entered the service from
Northampton who so proudly served our country. Tickets for the dinner are available at the Lodge or by contacting Gerry Clark or
Greg Zak.

Golf Tournament News:

The Golf Tournament  is getting closer so get your sponsorship in to
us so you don’t miss out on this great opportunity to advertise your
business!  Also, if anyone would like to donate prizes they will be
gladly accepted.  And as always, if anyone would like to volunteer at
the golf course or the banquet, we can always use your help.
And, if you are not a golfer but would like to join us for the dinner and
raffles, you can sign up for just $20 per person.

ATTENTION LODGE MEMBERS:
As you will read in this monthly bulletin, we are having a
spaghetti supper to support a trip to D.C. for our
veterans.  The date is August 2
1th from 3-6 p.m. at the
lodge. We will be serving many meals and need your
help.  With all the cooking we will be doing two shifts so
people can take a break with all the cooking and
serving.  If you have any time that day please stop in
and help out. Many hands make light work and there
will be plenty to do with prep work and clean-up.  If you
cannot make it how about buying a ticket or donating
some cash towards the food. Gerry and I are always
looking for cash or help to support our veterans.

Cruise Night:
Cruise Nights have started and we are off to a great start!  If you are
interested in volunteering, we have numerous different places that
you can help out.  Please join us and see if there is a job for you!
And if you don’t have the time for that, stop in!  Check out the great
cars, trucks and motorcycles.  Grab a burger, hot dog, grinder or
french fries!  It has got to be one of the least expensive dinners in
town!  And there are cold beverages available for kids of all ages.
And don’t forget to try you luck at one of the raffles.  This event helps
support our lodge.
