EXALTED RULER’S MESSAGE:
Members, Hope all had a safe and happy holiday season, and the Lodge had a great one. Many thanks again for all of the elves
that helped out, and a special thanks to Fran Sweeney for putting together another great children's Christmas party with his
special group of Elves. The many smiles of both the children and their families was a joy to behold.
Congratulations to Gerry, ("with a G"), Clarke, the December Elk of the month. Gerry was certainly well deserving, as all Elks of
the Month are, for his continued efforts and assistance in the Lodge.
The Futures Committee met in December, and began the long process of identifying ways to improve both the physical Lodge, as
well as bringing in and retaining members. This committee welcomes input from all the membership, so if you have an idea, pass
it on.
As I reflect on the past eight months, there is one thing that truly sets the Northampton Lodge #997 ahead of anyone, and that is
it's volunteers. All of the officers, committees, and individuals have been working at 150% in planning and insuring success of all
the events. I am confident that you have noticed this if you have attended any of the functions at the Lodge. A few people have
asked what it takes to volunteer, and that's what it takes, ask. People volunteer for as little or as much as they want. You are still
a volunteer, whatever time or skills you have, it is appreciated and welcome, and none are more important than the rest. Our
Lodge is built on this trait, which is shown in everything we do within the Lodge, or the Community. If you have a few minutes,
hours, days or whatever, and would like to help out, come on down, there is always room for you, and it is a great way to make
friends, or reacquaint with old ones. Many of our members donate to the Lodge and the programs thru other means, and they
are not to be discounted, as their contributions are a vital part of our existence. So when you are talking to a fellow Elk, we are all
doing our best to support the Lodge and all the programs that we support.
January has several events scheduled. Old Timers Night, on Sunday the 8th, and International Night on Tuesday the 10th, as
well as other events. Please check the calendar, and come on down, and don't forget to look for your membership number, there
are two more hidden somewhere in this bulletin.
Till next month.
Fraternally,
John Glenowicz, PER

Secretaries Message:
Happy New Year!!! The rush is over and now it is time to settle in for the winter. I hope everyone had a happy holiday season.
To date we have 45 members delinquent! I have posted the names of delinquent members on the bulletin board. If you know
any of these members please ask them to pay their dues.
I will be trying something a little different this year. I will be sending the dues notices out in the next bulletin envelope style.
This way you will have the envelope to fill out, put your check in and drop in the mail! Easy! I was hoping to get it into this bulletin
but couldn’t get them back from the printers in time.
Please support your lodge by coming to International Night or one of our very popular Friday Night Dinners.
Fraternally,
Sylvia Zakrzewski
